While swinging up with a closed racquet face and hitting the ball above the middle of the ball WHERE ON THE STRING BED DO I MAKE CONTACT? IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STRINGBED OR SOMEWHAT ABOVE THE EXACT MIDDLE ? ( in order to get more string contact with the ball thus more rotation). Thanks
Hi william, you will want to make contact in the center, or just below. If you hit above center, the face will open and you will lose power and spin. Let me know if you have any questions.
Clay, I really find your instruction helpful. My problem is a technical one. I can download your lessons from Youtube (most of them are there) and watch them straight through. But when I log into your website and try to view them they are slow/choppy to an extent I can’t watch them (10 minutes to get a 1:30 minute video). Same computer, same wifi, same settings, everything else equal. It would of course be better using the website as there is structure to the course that way. What to do?
Hi George. All of the main videos that are in the system are just on the website. If you go to the instruction tab up top, then TST system, then click on the different sections, all of those are website exclusive videos. Those are the ones where I walk you through a step by step system. There are about 120 video in that section, that you can’t find anywhere else.
One thing that Youtube does that vimeo (our video player) doesn’t do, is automatically set the resolution. For example, when you watch a video on YT, if your internet is a bit slow, it drops down the resolution to 720 or 480 automatically so it loads faster. You need to click the HD buttom manually on the bottom right hand side of the video player to do this on our site. That should help them to load right away.
Let me know if that works much better!
Clay

Dear Clay
David here from the Bronx, ny. it will be 2 years this may that I have picked up the game. to bad I waited this long, as I am 69 now..however I am decent shape and can move pretty good around the court I am told. I want to be further ahead than I am. I have many problems regarding this game, but I want throw this out to you. It would be great if I saw your input on this some time in the future. I AM RESTRICTING MY STROKES FROM COMPLETION. I fell like I am choking them, man its a head thing with me. HELP.
Thanks
David
Hey David, great to hear from you. It’s never too late to pick up this game and have a lot of fun! The biggest thing is to let the feet pivot through. Focus on the TST System under the instruction tab at the top of any page. Get started with these two video on the forehand that will really help to finish the stroke:

Let me know how you do!
Clay
Thanks for this drill for control and ability to hit a rally ball. I’ll try it on my students.
Let me know how it goes.
