Why You Need This: In this mini podcast, you'll learn a key training fact: If you're not measuring, you're just guessing.
This is huge.
The vast majority of players don't measure their results while practicing.
And when you don't measure your progress, it's easy to let emotions take over.
Let's say your goal is to improve your serve accuracy.
If you hit a few nice serves, it's easy to think...
"Dang, my serve is awesome. I don't need to keep practicing."
Well, congrats on hitting a few good serves...
But that doesn't mean you've put in good enough practice that will take your game to the next level.
In my last podcast, I discussed the importance of creating specific goals.
Measuring those goals is the next step.
For example, rather than just guessing that you're serving well, create a goal like serving 12 out of 20 serves in, but up the middle.
As soon as you reach that goal, make it harder.
Instead of landing 12 good serves up the middle, up it to 15.
Measure your progress by keeping a log of your results.
This will help you build your tennis skills tremendously.
If you're not measuring, you're just guessing.
